Steve Mallis: Bio

I played my 1st guitar when I was around 10 or 12. I had to beg my parents for a guitar (we were relatively poor), they finally caved in and got me one. I played it for a while and then gave up. I think the mistake mistake I ever made (and there are several to choose from) was sitting that guitar down.

I've played off and on my whole life since then. I mostly play guitar, but also play piano/keyboard, bass guitar, whistle, and mandolin. l played traditional Irish music with the NOVA Irish music sessioniers up in Northern Va. I also played a few gigs on my own at ZeMean Bean Cafe in the Fells Point area of Baltimore, Md.

For about the last 6 years I've been writing songs, taking singing and music lessons, and studying internet marketing, performance and stage presence. This year, talent wise, it seems to be coming together for me. I really want this year 2012 to be a good year for me musically.

When I'm in, I go all in, and when I go out, I go all out (might use this in a song!) so be expecting to hear a lot of good stuff from me. I am currently writing songs, playing and singing at open mics and volunteering, and working when I have to.
